Heather Hubbs, NADA director

May 10, 2013 @ Basketball City

Aligning itself with Frieze New York for the second year in a row, NADA New York launched its second edition in a new home-Basketball City, an athletic facility on the East River near Chinatown. Hosting more than 70 galleries representing 13 countries, the New Art Dealers Alliance's fair featured several large-scale sculptural installations, daily dance performances, a rock opera and a riverfront café. Commenting on the new venue, NADA director Heather Hubbs told A.i.A., "It's amazing here. It gives us a lot of room to breathe, room to grow, room to change it up. It's good for NADA. It's more along the lines of what we do-going into uncharted areas and finding venues that haven't been used for this sort of thing in the past."
