The Association of International Photography Art Dealers, a non-profit organization representing over 120 fine art photography galleries worldwide, has elected Catherine Edelman its next president. 

Edelman, a member of AIPAD for more than 20 years, is director of Catherine Edelman Gallery, Chicago. The gallery opened in 1987, and has featured exhibitions by photographers such as Nan Goldin, Sebastião Salgado, Annie Leibovitz and Matthew Rolston. Catherine Edelman Gallery has also published numerous books including Michelle Keim: Iron Beauties (2006) and Jeffrey Wolin's Written In Memory: Portraits of the Holocaust (1997).

AIPAD has also chosen four officers to serve alongside Edelman. Kraige Block, director of Throckmorton Fine Art, New York, will be first vice president; Roland Baron of Gallery 19/21, Guilford, Conn., will act as second vice president; Susan Herzig of Paul M. Hertzmann, Inc., San Francisco, will be treasurer; and Steven Kasher, owner and director Steven Kasher Gallery, New York, will serve as secretary.

Edelman's term as president, which will last for two years, begins in January 2013. AIPAD, founded in 1979, will host its annual Photography Show at the Park Avenue Armory, New York, from April 4-7, 2013.
