Art Workshop

Ray Johnson fans and architecture enthusiasts alike, take note! At this workshop you'll create your own mail artwork under the guidance of artists Michael and Alan Fleming. Everyone will then amble over to the Bronx General Post Office-whose building, reflecting the U.S. Postal Service's dire financial straits, is up for sale-to mail their creations. There, Glenn Palmer-Smith, artist and author of Murals of New York City: The Best of New York's Public Paintings from Bemelmans to Parrish, for a guided tour of the Ben Shahn murals, recently designated as an interior landmark by the New York Landmarks Preservation Commission.
