Dia Acquires Lannan Foundation Works

A group of 30 artworks that have been on loan to Dia:Beacon for a decade, including major pieces by Bruce Nauman, Donald Judd, Agnes Martin and Lawrence Weiner, will remain there and become part of the museum's collection, the museum announced today.

Zao Wou-ki, Chinese modernist painter, died Apr. 9, age 93, at his home in Switzerland. He suffered from Alzheimer's disease. In 2011, he was the highest-selling living Chinese artist at auction.

Steven Matijcio Named Curator At CAC Cincinnati

The Contemporary Arts Center of Cincinnati, Ohio, has announced the appointment of Steven Matijico as its new curator. Matijcio has served as curator of contemporary art at the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, Winston-Salem, N.C., since 2008. Matijcio's hire comes after assistant curator Justine Ludwig stepped down to a part-time adjunct position in September to pursue a graduate degree at Goldsmiths, University of London. Read More
