In Captured This Week, Art in America takes a look at art through the lenses of Flickr photographers from around the world.

 

 

On July 8th, visitors were evacuated from the Getty Center after a brushfire broke out around 1 p.m. near the Sepulveda Pass. Onlooker Shimbot posted this shot to Flickr the following day.

 

In London on July 5th, Flickr photographer Larsz decended beneath the Tate Modern for the museum's first "Tate Local Neighbourhood Day" where locals were treated to a rare view of the oil tanks under Turbine Hall, the center of the museum's new expansion project.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On the streets of Berlin, street artist El Boncho completed the world's biggest "tape art" installation, as captured by Flickr photographer asrael 74 on July 4th.

 

 

Two installations from Creative Times' PLOT09: This World and Nearer Ones, on Governors Island, photographed by . On the left, Lawrence Weiner's At The Same Moment greets those entering and exiting the seaport. On the right, Anthony McCall's light installation in historoic St. Cornelius Chapel, Between You and I. Both were photographed by Flickr photographer ian.crowther.
