Sarah Sze Will Represent the US at the Venice Biennale

Artist Sarah Sze will build one of her immersive environments, constructed from mundane materials like coffee cups, bottle caps and office supplies, in La Serenissima next summer.

The Bronx Museum of the Arts has announced that it will present Sze's work at the U.S. Pavilion at the 55th Venice Biennale, which will be on view from June through November 2013.

Sze's installation, Triple Point, will consist of a series of environments, created from her customary accumulations of everyday, mass-produced objects, that will blur the boundary between interior and exterior of the 1930s Palladian-style structure of the U.S. Pavilion.

In keeping with its mission of public education, the Bronx Museum will offer an online accompaniment with streaming video documenting the piece's conception, fabrication, and installation.
