Screening: Gets Under the Skin at Storefront for Art and Architecture

"Gets Under the Skin" is a series of films and videos selected by Hajnalka Somogyi, screening through May 13th at the Storefront for Art and Architecture. Focusing primarily on the Euro-American tradition in modernist archecture, the series' thesis remains critical of the overarching historical narratives that have led to the privileging of monolithic "starchitecture" over more tempered, experimental tropes. Rather, the series considers architecture in its various forms as a manifestation of an "unshakable legacy that continues to inspire and irritate." Tomorrow evening's screening begins at 7 pm at the Storefront for Art and Architecture with films by Terence Gower (Wilderness Utopia, 2008); Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle (Always After (The Glass House), 2006); Lars Laumann (Berlinmuren, 2008); Pierre Huyghe (This is No Time for Dreaming, 2004); and Caspar Stracke (No Damage, 2002). Total screening time is approximately 74 minutes.
