Kate Fowle Named Curator at Moscow's Garage Center

Kate Fowle has been named chief curator of Garage Center for Contemporary Culture, a Moscow-based nonprofit that exhibits modern and contemporary Russian art.

Fowle leaves her position as executive director of New York's Independent Curators International (ICI), a nonprofit founded in 1975 and known for producing contemporary art exhibitions and training curators. Renaud Proch, an ICI deputy director since 2009, will take over as executive director. Fowle, executive director since 2009, will remain as ICI's director-at-large.

Garage Center for Contemporary Culture was founded in 2008 by Russian collector Dasha Zhukhova.
