OVERVIEW

The SoHo Arts Network (SAN) is pleased to present its fall program: the Downtown Culture Talks.

This series of discussions explores various aspects of Downtown Manhattan’s rich cultural history and legacy. Following SAN’s Downtown Culture Walk last spring, the Downtown Culture Talk series furthers the network’s commitment to fostering the arts in the neighborhood through public programs that celebrate and examine its local cultural history.

Presented by the SAN at apexart, The Drawing Center, and The Renee & Chaim Gross Foundation, the Downtown Culture Talks explores the personal histories and lived experiences of female artists active in downtown Manhattan beginning in the early 1960s through the present moment. Participants include artists Judith Bernstein, Jane Dickson, Jackie Ferrara, Mimi Gross, Becky Howland, and curator Alison M. Gingeras. All events are free and open to the public.

Downtown Culture Talk is organized by the Soho Arts Network. For more information, kindly visit www.sohoarts.org.
