Benefit for Swoon's 'Cities of Serenissima' and Honey Space

June 6, 2009 @ Honey Space

Chelsea isn't a ghost town after all: While the rest of the art world flocked to Venice and Basel this week, Honey Space held a joint benefit for the gallery and artist Swoon's 'Cities of Serenissima' project. Braving the high seas in their homemade sculptures-cum-ships, Swoon and a crew of 30 crashed the Biennale earlier this week -- docked off the coast of Certosa, the merry pranksters will stage a series of performances and other hijinks in collaboration with the band Dark, Dark, Dark. Back on the home front, the fairs were forgotten as the "staycation" set came out for a silent auction that included Swoon's work and a party to celebrate what looks to be a very promising summer in New York.
