Design Miami

Design Miami 2012 is bigger and better than it's ever been. The eighth edition of “The Global Forum for Design” features 29 international galleries, along with seven innovative projects presented by emerging galleries and four spectacular sponsor booths. Design Miami’s offerings range from modern and contemporary design objects, jewelry, and furnishings to experimental projects and installations—including Snarkitecture’s inflatable pavilion at the entrance to the tent, Asif Khan’s luminous structure for Swarovski Crystal Palace, and Maarten de Ceulaer’s design performance for Fendi. “The quality is up this year,” collector Aby Rosen told A.i.A. “I believe that when you buy great art you need great furniture. Most people don’t get that. You should start with the furniture and then buy the art.”—Paul Laster
